Goal 1) My first goal for my group semester project is to somehow finish the graphs for the survey results. We need to do this so we can began to showcase our findings. We then can begin to analyze and understand how our program would work if initiated. From that we can plan our future research and come up with a solid project.
Goal 2) My second goal for the overall group blog is a united decision. My group members and I have decided that we need to explore the board game world and play more variety of games. From this, we will be able to determine what kind of set rules we like to play by, what is intertaining to us, and what dort of things we don't like about the games. This will help us create a game that will oth be engaging, captivating, and at the same time challenging.
Goal 3) Last but not least my individual blog. I have decided the topic i had originally chosen doesn't capture my intrest as much as I thought it would have. I would like to change it to the topic of drug use. Things like why people use them, how they get them, how they feel when they take them, and then the after math of all of it. It fascinates me to no end. However,I do not know if this is ok yet with my teachers. I want to meet with them and discuss it, but there seems to be no time. I am also facing the option of still wanting to drop this class. Over break I shall be discussing my options with my parents about it and when I come back from break I will need to set up a meeting with my counsaler to discuss the final decision.

New Topic (/.\)
I have officially decided that my previous topic of social psychology doesn't interest me enough to research into it more. However, I have figured out a topic that has always interested me to no end. That topic is drug abuse. Marijuana, cocaine, mushrooms,etc.. The people who abuse these toxins have fascinated me. The way the drugs affect them and the reasons behind the choice to use them has always peaked my interest. Tomorrow I will set up a meeting with my gifted teachers and discuss with them if I am able to switch my topics.

Peer Pressure?:o
Thursday, during 6th period, my group members Nate and Andy had gone to one of the remedial English classes to survey them for our semester project. For the other classes we surveyed we had passed out a paper with the questions printed on it. This way the people taking it could write whatever they want and explain their answers. However when Nate and Andy went to survey Mrs.Means class, Nate had thrown out the survey and had rather done the survey by verbally reading out the questions. Now you're thinking big deal right? It's faster that way. The problem with this is one of the questions asked wether you'd feel more comfortable with a student or adult as a buddy. Apparently most of the students raised their hands for student. But what if some answers were because everyone else raised their hand? You wouldn't want to be that kid that's more comfortable with an adult then a student right? Everyone would think you're odd right? This is why I believe that the results from Mrs.Means 6th period remedial English class results have been a little off.

Observation :O
I'm taking this time to stop and actual observe my behavior when working in my group for our projects. Since I'm focusing on social psychology that means I have to focus on how people act within groups. To start I've noticed that when working on the year-long project of inventing a board game I lose interest. This is because I'm not invested in what I'm suppose to be doing. However, with this semester project I actually am quite interested in what my group has decided to do. I'm actively finding evidence and conducting research to further help our semester project develop into its final creation, but for the year project I don't seem to be able find the drive to want to do it.
Overall, my observation is that, depending on the situation at hand, it will effect how people react within groups. Take me for example. When I do something I don't like, I lose focus ,but when it's something I DO like and am interested in I will happily work for it.

Breakthrough \(^.^)/
Hello fellow readers! I was at dinner today when I was introduced to a former counselor of Fremd High School, Mr.Spenkler. My group's semester final project deals with incoming freshman being paired with upper classmen and when we consulted Mrs.Sheehan about this she mentioned meeting with a counselor to see if a similar system is already in placed. I took this as an opportunity to ask questions. The results were that Mr.Spenkler had told me that in Fremd High School has a system where it pairs up TRANSFER students with a buddy. He told me this was a way for them to get acclimated to a whole new area. Students in the more common junior highs were already connected to one another, therefore the high schools focused more on the kids who don't have this connection. He also talked about how logistically it would be difficult, however if we somehow included sophomores and juniors ,instead of limiting to just seniors, it is possible to accomplish this.
This post is long so I will continue the post on a separate one. That will include more of the concerns and problems of this.

Teamwork:3
Social psychology is how people act when they are in a situation with other people. Therefore teamwork is a great example to see how individuals work in groups. Currently I am at a debate tournament in Barrington with the rest of my team mates. As I look around I see members of the other schools' team around us. There are those who isolate themselves to work by themselves which shows that those individuals don't work we'll with others. Yet as I continue to look around I can see that the more social members are engaged in conversations concerning the debate round. The ones who speak loud and look unhappy are the ones who didn't do so well in the round while those who have smiles clearly are confident on their performance. As more members come back from their rounds team members come together and work side-by-side to strengthen cases. This shows how teamwork brings individuals together to work together for the common good of the team.
